New beginnings, baby 2 on the way Monday, Aug. 07, 2006 - 11:41 a.m. How things have changed since my last entry!!! I didn’t realise it had been so long, so here’s a quick summary:- My husband and I celebrated 4 years of marriage earlier this month and we are really happy to announce that we are 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant with baby number 2. Baby daughter number one (dd1) was born on 18th April 2005 over the weekend. Seriously, I was working on the Friday, car shopping with my sister and hubby on the Saturday and my waters broke calmly at 9am on Sunday morning, 3.5 weeks before she was due. The hospital was fantastic, and after complicaions, and she was delivered by emergency caesarean at 1:18am on the Monday morning. Hubby and I were not officially back together, but I couldn’t have asked for more support, he was really wonderful. DD1 is now 1 year, 3 months and 3 weeks old. She is such a joy and I love her so much. She cemented our little family together and DH and I wanted to give her a little sister. We will find out in a few weeks if we have success, or a brother! Either way, it will be perfect. I haven’t had any tests since the positive pregnancy test when I was 4 ½ weeks pregnant. I am so nervous about the obstetrician appointment next Monday. I hope that all is okay with this little bub. I have no reason for it not to be. Morning sickness is there but not a permanent part of my day. I lost half a kilo early on and have not put on any more weight, but tummy is thickening up. All work clothes are terribly tight and I am trying to keep it a secret for a few more weeks yet. No change in breast size. Not surprising since it took me about 6 months last time to get a bigger bra. Swings of bowel issues and heaps of food cravings. I guess it sounds pretty normal now that I write it all down. Anyway, I will update next week.. My private hospital booking has gone really well. Not only did I get the same hospital that I loved last time, but now they have an upgrade to a 5 star hotel if you don’t have any problems etc to free up beds. Woo hoo! I am so excited. I will talk to my ob on Monday about booking in for a caesarean. My sister used the same ob as me in April this year and was really happy too. Her baby boy was breech so she booked in prior to due date, turned up at 11am and had the baby by 12pm. I will be much happier not having to worry about the labour going as wrong as it did the first time. It was way too stressful and completely unnecessary. Thank you medicine!!! It’s almost time for me to leave work. I work half days on Monday and full days Tuesday to Friday. The 7:30am start is a killer but at least I get to give my little girl dinner and a bath. I love that time of the day.
